Bipolar Illness and Where We Are Today

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

In the constantly broken and incomplete site YahooAnswers.com, I think it’d be just swell if visitors could actually post their comments of expertise regarding the subject. For whatever reason, that doesn’t seem possible anymore. I suspect that the site’s engineers are ordered to be busy with other stuff, like counting their change. (more…)

Movie Review: Iron Man (’08)

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

I don’t usually check mainstream movies, but Dylan’s here and picked this one. We checked it out and it’s very good. Coincidentally, Afghanistan is where the bad guys reside; they buy weapons from double-crosser American weapons manufacturer, and the whole thing is very cool. (more…)

Water Shut-Off: A Whole New Meaning

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

Our home is old, and so apparently is the transponder in the ‘prongie’ shut-off mechanism on the side of our house. PRELUDE: I already reviewed this album a few months ago, but I now know I left a bit out. That post was plenty accurate; it just didn’t say enough. Having not even looked at it, this one burst out of my heart yesterday so here it is. I know I have shared that I named my son after this artist. Enjoy:

Bob’s best studio album is also his most obscure. The late 80’s were preoccupied with ‘super groups’ and gigantic recording contracts for gigantic bands—close your eyes and pick. Amidst this clamor comes this musical gem from an artist who’s creativity never slows down…. (more…)

Passing Down the ‘Select Best’ Music to My Daughter

Monday, May 19th, 2008

It’s time to pass long all my durable media music to (hopefully) a bunch of people who, for whatever reason, didn’t buy it and listen to it. I picked a public library system that’s soon to make room for all its three branches in one large complex. They’ll have to plan on making their CD music racks a bit larger; I didn’t tell them I’d bestow them with so much material. They’ll find room, though. (more…)
